Once we have created the brief and the base info, you will receive a proposal that you will like within the deadline. No more disorganised/distracted/weak/egotistical designers.

If you develop the project to construction, the proposal is insured.

If the project develops to construction phase, the designBouts designer will work with legal software.

The patron’s blacklist means that you will receive preferential rates and services until you show yourself to be malicious. (this is the reverse of a credit record). The list is accessible to all designers, not only ones affiliated with designBouts. The lower your score, the more likely it is that designer’s will be reluctant to work with you (or more likely to overcharge you to compensate for the risks of working with you).

the competition is one entertaining way to democratise access to design projects. They harness designers’ agency and desire for differentiation rather than the designer’s networks abiility to commission schemes. Our contests are setup to avoid unfair advantage - which is typical in regular market patronage - adjudication fatigue - that is typical in regular competitions - implausible proposals - many competitions are often over embellished with the fantastic - vague briefs and we are honest that the winner is selected based on the patron’s taste. It is also worth noting that design - as a discipline - has different taste than a patron, thus designBouts also selects a winner (architect’s winner). Your winner wins the prize money; the designBouts winner wins ‘street cred’. Designers with higher street cred will receive a bigger share of the prize money from the competitions they win. They can also receive other priveleges like design expeditions / sabbaticals. Thus, you can be sure that designer’s on our platform are motivated to deliver proposals that are both suited to your needs and have design merit that is best for your needs.

designBouts is the space where prospective patrons meet designers who can deliver a project to the patrons’ requirements and preferences. Thus, you will be exposed to a broader group of designers than your existing network or its reach. More importantly, our designers have indicated a desire to be better than their peers or they would not put themselves through this gruelling process. 

designBouts is architecture’s standup. Entrants can be experienced pros or emerging graduates, a thing that binds them is their desire to test themselves.
